Thinking of Christmas and the best way to promote portrait commission work

As Christmas approaches and I have nearly completed my current pet portrait I have been thinking of how to promote my portrait commission work as a special gift. I created and collage and turned to my Instagram artist friends for advice. In this post you will see the "before" and "after" collages plus a glimpse of my current commission as well as links to my social media and to artist Lee Morgan who gave me advice on Facebook promotions. More on that soon. In the meantime, why not spread the word for me that my commission work is high quality and highly recommended!  😉😁

Talking about artwork when it is a secret commission - how would you do it?

This blog is just asking the question about posting "artwork in progress" photos of commissions. I reveal a selection of photos of my current pet portrait commission without revealing the full portrait. My aim is to keep you up to date with my artworks without giving too much away. Have a look and please give me your feedback if you have the time. And if you like what you see, why not have a commission done as a Christmas present? Food for thought......

Not long now until my next exhibition as part of H-art week 2019

Can't believe how quickly this year has flown by! Does not seem like a year since I last exhibited as part of H-art (Herefordshire Art) week here at home However I decided this year to exhibit at a venue where there were a number of artists also displaying their artworks. As a solo artist in our home there are advantages to visitors ( seeing the studio, work atmosphere etc ) but many visitors prefer to visit one venue with many artists, which was difficult for us.... So after seeing a few venues we chose the Makers Mezzanine in Whitney-on-Wye HR3...

I am interviewed by Dave Nevue as a Featured Artist

I am always interested in finding out more about art marketing and how to increase my exposure across all my social media platforms and my wife Cathy helps me in this. It is hard to balance the PR aspect with art creation but with Cathy as my "manager" it helps enormously. I discovered Dave Nevue on my art marketing journey on both Pinterest and Twitter. His depth of knowledge and wide range of articles on art marketing make for very interesting reading - you can see more on his website Nevue Fine Art Marketing. When Dave offered to interview artists,...
