I have sold a number of ducklings ( see below ) in the past and this delightful duckling, from a reference photo by Mark Butterworth, was enjoyable to create.
I used soft pastel for the background and water, and pastel pencils for the feathers and details. The paper I use is Artspectrum Colourfix. The sharpened pencils create the detail and the background is blended using polystyrene sticks to give the three dimensional effect to the completed painting.
This painting is 8.5 inch by 12.5 inch - in it's frame it is 15 inch by 19 inch which is the perfect size for any wall.
